BSF Accused of Attempting to Push 10 People into Bangladesh Through Moulvibazar Border; BGB Sends Them Back
Moulvibazar Correspondent: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has been accused of attempting to push 10 people into Bangladesh illegally through the Kachurgul border in Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar district.
The incident took place on the night of Thursday, 2 July. Later, members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), with assistance from local residents, detained the individuals.
According to BGB sources, the group consisted of two men, seven women, and one child. During identity verification, they failed to produce any valid Bangladeshi documents proving their citizenship.
Confirming the matter, Lt. Col. Ataur Rahman, Commander of the 52 BGB Beanibazar Battalion, said the 10 individuals were detained in the morning with the assistance of local residents. As no valid documents establishing their Bangladeshi nationality were found during verification, they were sent back to India later that night.
He further stated that the BGB maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding illegal border infiltration and push-in attempts. According to him, the force remains vigilant at all times to ensure the security and stability of Bangladesh’s borders.
